08 - MALKA LONDON

Social Media & Brand Design [NEWSLETTER, PACKAGING], web design

At Malka London, a fashion and lifestyle brand specialising in satin-lined headwrap “Crowns” for women aged 30–55, I support the development of a cohesive and empowering brand identity rooted in wellness, confidence, and community. My role combines graphic design, digital marketing, and content creation, allowing me to contribute across visual and operational areas—from logo design, packaging concepts, and newsletters to daily social media management and customer engagement. I create visually engaging, story-driven content (posts, reels, and stories) tailored to our audience’s values and needs, while also supporting the brand’s online community through direct interactions and order fulfilment. This hands-on experience in the fashion and wellness space has helped me refine my eye for branding, visual storytelling, and audience connection—building not just a look, but a feeling.

Brand Identity & Strategy Kickoff

At the start of my role with Malka London, I initiated a brand identity deep-dive to help refine and visually elevate the brand’s presence. I began by researching Malka’s mission, values, and audience to create a strategic moodboard that captured the brand’s empowering, elegant, and relatable tone. I developed font pairings and color palettes aligned with the founder’s vision and created early logo explorations that could evolve with the brand. I also conceptualised a campaign idea for the existing message “Queens Are Not Born, They Are Made,” exploring how this could be visually and emotionally communicated across digital platforms. To help position Malka within the wellness and fashion space, I drafted a professional outreach email to a leading women’s magazine, combining visual and written branding to ensure consistency across touchpoints. This foundation shaped the visual direction across social media and newsletters.

Social Media Visuals + makeover

To elevate Malka London’s digital presence, I refreshed the brand’s Instagram with a more cohesive, elegant, and emotionally resonant visual style. From styling guides and product showcases to reels and community-focused content, I created posts that reflect the brand’s core values—empowerment, authenticity, and sisterhood. This gallery features a selection of visuals I designed, including before-and-after feed transformations, showcasing a stronger, more unified aesthetic and tone across platforms. brand identity kit AND BRAND WORLD

After spending time researching and immersing myself in the story behind Malka London, I developed a full brand kit rooted in an established identity. I looked into the brand’s mission, tone, values, and emotional purpose — particularly its commitment to empowering women facing hair loss through elegant, handcrafted headwraps. In the presentation, I explored brand keywords, voice, personality, moodboards, a carefully curated colour palette, logo direction, typography, and social media content pillars. Each element was designed to reflect Malka’s core values: empowerment, sisterhood, wellness, and intentional beauty — creating a soulful, cohesive brand world.

Talking to Sashaa, who was saying she sees her brand as a 'retreat' and place for a women to feel empowered, I envisioned Malka London becoming a mythical island retreat — a sun-kissed place where women come to reconnect with their inner power, beauty, and rhythm. Crowns aren’t just accessories — they’re part of the ritual of arrival, a way of returning to yourself with grace, color, and care. Women are sisters of the Isle, seekers, and goddesses at rest. This can be reflected in language and packaging.

website re-design

For Malka London’s website redesign, I created a clean, modern, and user-friendly experience aligned with the new brand kit. I focused on translating the brand’s refined visual identity—rooted in empowerment and wellness—into a minimal yet impactful interface. The design prioritises accessibility and ease of navigation, especially for mobile users, while maintaining a premium aesthetic. I ensured clear product storytelling, intuitive layout, and seamless user flow across all pages. From typography and colour palette to interactive sections like tutorials and events, every element was crafted to enhance both brand engagement and conversion.

newsletter + PACKAGING REdesign

I designed branded newsletter templates for Malka London that blend storytelling with strategy—highlighting product launches, community messages, and empowering narratives. Each layout was crafted to reflect the brand’s warm, uplifting tone, using bold headlines, clear CTAs, and elegant design elements that mirror the Crown aesthetic. The goal was to create an email experience that felt personal and purposeful, turning each newsletter into a moment of connection with our audience.

To enhance this experience, I created a clean template, modular design template with editorial-style headlines and soft-toned sections. The hierarchy prioritises product storytelling and user action, while subtle design details—like the “Weekly Crown Letter” banner and tailored copy for diverse hair journeys—reinforce the brand’s inclusive and celebratory voice.

I designed thank-you postcards to go out with every order — a simple, thoughtful detail that adds to Malka London’s island vibe. Like a note from a faraway place, each card helps build the feeling that Malka is more than a brand — it’s a retreat. A warm, sunlit world where women come home to themselves, and Crowns are part of that journey.

MADRAS COLLECTION - NEW DROP, CONTENT PLAN

For the Madras Collection launch, I developed a storytelling-aligned content plan that honored the fabric’s diasporic roots—from Indian looms to Caribbean culture, and now reimagined in London. I crafted the creative direction, visual mood, and weekly content themes across quote-driven motivation, product storytelling, and community celebration. The plan tied cultural education with emotional resonance—positioning each headwrap as a symbol of legacy, sisterhood, and reclamation.
